Our story starts about 10 years ago, when we purchased our first akita from a backyard breeder. We named him Fuji and he came with all the baggage you would expect from a so-called breeder who does no temperament or genetic testing. We tried to find help for him and found that our local training schools all used some kind of violent training methods. And none of them knew about canine language and proper communication techniques. Not being comfortable with these methods, our search for gentler training and education methods began.
We found them through reputable people like Jean Donaldson, Turid Rugaas, Karen Pryor, Suzanne Clothier and Luc Campbell from "Cyno-professionnelle Canadienne Ltee", a highly rated school in our area. We also extended our knowledge through additional studies and research, as well as seminars which we continue to attend, to update our knowledge and obtain feedback from others who share our views. After many years of learning, we are constantly aiming to give you the benefits of our non-violent, hollistic methods of training and behavior counselling, so you don't have to go through what we did . You and your dogs can learn to co-habitate peaceably without you feeling like you have to "dominate" them. We have also begun a professional quality breeding program with one of the most versatile breeds and one of our favorites, the Boxer. We owe this beginning to Mephisto Boxers, Bayridge Boxers and the long-distance mentoring of well-known writer, breeder, judge, and much more, Mr. Rick Beauchamp. Today, we share our lives with Eve and Dawn, our foundations and our rescue akitas Yoshi and Jada. In addition, we have created the "Boxer Rescue of Quebec" with our partners Crystal and Chris, a non-profit organization dedicated to re-homing abandoned and/or mistreated boxers. Please visit www.boxerrescuequebec.com. We have recently created www.dogzoogle.com, a website geared to any and all dog owners; it is a library of dog related information in the form of an online magazine where the public can go to find out anything they need to know about all the dog aspects they could ever imagine. Dogzoogle.com is an online learning center for anything dog and the first place to go if a "dog problem" arises. It is also the place to go for clicker class information. Dogzoogle gives clicker training classes in Lachine, QC and posts all class information on its website. NOTE: Please purchase your puppies/dogs from a reputable breeder registered with the CKC or AKC, or a reputable rescue organization. Research your breed of choice, ask lots of questions as you should be asked, and NEVER buy from a pet store since they only buy their dogs at puppy mills for very cheap prices. Dogs from puppy mills are born into this world in horrible conditions and this kind of torture must be stopped at all costs. This can only be done if you don't purchase puppies/dogs from pet stores. |
